Start a conversation

Epiq Assist enables you to ask questions specific to the documents added to the AI Model. You can adjust the available filters to focus on a specific document set if desired.

To start a conversation with Epiq Assist, complete the following procedure.

1. In the Main Menu, select Review and then Epiq Assist.

2. Optional. Apply filters to refine the document population as needed. Refer to Apply filters to a conversation for more information.

3. At the bottom of the Epiq Assist page, select a suggested prompt or type your own in the prompt box, and then press Enter or click Submit .

   Tip: Suggested prompts are there to help get you started. Modify them as needed for your project.

   • You can see the Epiq Assist response below your prompt, along with citations and referenced document IDs.

   • Select Stop at any time to stop response generation. Epiq Assist displays the partial response and adds Stopped Generating at the bottom. Selecting New Chat or History also saves the partial response, which you can view in History.

   • During response generation, you can type text in the input box. However, you must stop response generation before sending your prompt.

   • If you applied any filters, click Filters Applied to see the filters used to refine the population for that response.

   • Hover over a citation number to display a popup with the highlighted quote from the source document.

   • Select the citations or document ID references to review them in the Document Viewer.

   • Click View References to open a list of all referenced documents for that response.

   • To return to your conversation, in the Main Menu, select Epiq Assist.

4. Ask follow-up questions as needed to continue your conversation.

Tip: To maintain clarity and relevance, keep each conversation focused on a single topic.

5. If you need to start a new topic, click New Chat.

6. To return to a previous discussion, select History.
